It’s been a while since my last post, so bear with me as I attempt to get back into the habit of writing.

What have I been up to?

In 2020 I took a necessary break from writing, not just because my blogposts felt like they were all over the place at some point, but I also needed some time to figure out how to communicate the gratification as well as the mild frustrations that come with cultivating a reading lifestyle. A way to delve deeper into book-ish pet peeves and delights if you will.

James’s great masterpiece of haunting atmosphere and unbearable tension, tells of a young governess sent to a country house to take charge of two orphans, Miles and Flora. Unsettled by a dark foreboding of menace within the house, she soon comes to believe that something, or someone, malevolent is stalking the children in her care. Is the threat to her young charges really a malign and ghostly presence, or a manifestation of something else entirely?

FROM PAGE TO SCREEN – ALL THE BOOK ADAPTATIONS YOU CAN WATCH IN SEPTEMBER

There are a lot of things that dictate what ends up on my monthly TBR-list, but off late nothing has shaped it the way Netflix does. The amount of books and graphic novels that are being adapted to Netflix original movies and series have increased at a rate that I, frankly, can’t keep up with. The aforementioned also applies to streaming services like Apple TV, Amazon, HBO and Peacock. However, for September 2020 I’d like to focus on Netflix, simply because they offer an excellent blend of genres.

MY READING PLANS FOR JULY

Hello fellow bibliophiles,

What are y’all up to?! 😊

Me … I guess I am slowly getting out of some sort of reading slump. This wasn’t a regular slump though and probably quarantine and/or black lives matter related. That being said … now feels like the best time to start doing whatever needs to be done to become whole again. For the month of July this means that I will carve out a substantial amount of time for reading.
